Tax Director (Wealth Management Firm)

Senior Tax Advisor — Elite UHNW Advisory (Mostly Remote, CA Only)

Step away from the grind of traditional public accounting. This is where top‑tier tax professionals do the most compelling work of their careers — without audits, burnout, or business development pressure. Join a firm built for deep, strategic tax advisory serving ultra‑high‑net‑worth families, fully integrated with a world‑class wealth management platform.

Why This Role Is Different

  • Pure advisory focus — Complex wealth transfer, philanthropic strategy, and entity structuring. No audits. No busy work.
  • Zero business development — A dedicated sales team brings in clients so you can focus entirely on strategy and service.
  • Real work‑life balance — Structured hours, remote flexibility for California residents, and a culture that actually honors boundaries.
  • Distributed, diverse team — 50% women, 90+ U.S. cities, no headquarters. Talent over geography.
  • No billable hours — And no audit cycles to manage.

The Role

As a Senior Tax Advisor, you’ll serve as the strategic tax partner to the firm’s most sophisticated UHNW clients. You will:

  • Lead complex tax planning across multi‑generational wealth transfer, philanthropic structures, and intricate entity arrangements.
  • Review and sign returns for individual, trust, gift, corporate, and partnership structures.
  • Partner closely with the wealth advisory team to deliver integrated, forward‑looking strategies.
  • Mentor and elevate junior tax professionals, contributing to a culture of excellence.

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of tax experience, ideally with UHNW or family office clients.
  • CPA, JD, MS, or LLM required.
  • Deep technical expertise across individual, trust, gift, corporate, and partnership taxation.
  • Experience with wealth transfer, family business structures, and philanthropic planning.
  • Exceptional communication skills — able to make complex concepts clear, actionable, and client‑friendly.

Benefits Highlights

  • $180,000–$200,000 base salary + incentive compensation
  • Full medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Mostly remote work (California residents only)
  • HSA with company contributions
  • 401(k) with per‑paycheck company match
  • 14 paid holidays, including a full week off at Thanksgiving
  • Generous PTO
  • 8 weeks paid parental leave
  • Company‑paid concierge services for family care (children, aging parents, and more)
  • Pet insurance
