Senior Tax Accountant (Family Office)
The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for tax compliance for more than 125 entities across various industries, including real estate, oil and gas, retail, and investment partnerships.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES – Senior Tax Accountant
- Manage tax compliance for approximately 125 entities, including:
- Preparing federal and state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, and exempt organizations
- Analyzing and reviewing annual general ledger data, complex transactions, and applicable accounting and tax rules
- Responding to federal and state government correspondence
- Assisting with tax examinations and audits
- Preparing income tax planning and estimated tax payments
- Supporting implementation of estate planning strategies in coordination with legal advisors
- Assisting with ad‑hoc accounting projects as needed
- Support monthly financial reporting for over 100 entities across multiple industries by:
- Reconciling account balances and preparing supporting workpapers
- Providing commentary on significant events, trends, and transactions each period
- Reviewing financial statements for missing or miscoded transactions
- Conduct analysis and ad‑hoc reporting, including:
- Preparing cash‑flow statements, projections, budgets, and other periodic reports
- Analyzing performance of marketable securities, alternative investments, oil and gas holdings, and other industry‑specific investments
QUALIFICATIONS – Senior Tax Accountant
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 3+ years of income tax experience
- CPA certification preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team‑oriented environment
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Experience with professional tax software preferred
